In and out-of school performance of the library: comparative analysis of its performance in private and public high schools manaus-am

A biblioteca escolar desempenha um papel significativo no cotidiano do aluno, o que influencia além dos muros da escola. Diante dos resultados obtidos no Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM) de 2014 se procurou analisar a realidade da biblioteca escolar em Manaus - AM, no âmbito particular e público (estadual e federal) e sua influência no desempenho, na formação educacional dos alunos. A pesquisa foi financiada pela Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do estado do Amazonas (FAPEAM) por meio do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação Científica (PIBIC), a pesquisa foi realizada do segundo semestre de 2015 ao segundo semestre de 2016. Observou-se os projetos que essas bibliotecas desenvolvem, a forma como é percebida pelos alunos, docentes, profissionais que atuam na biblioteca e gestores. Nessa perspectiva, o problema aponta para saber: qual a interação e o desempenho que a biblioteca escolar exerce sobre o aluno no contexto intra e extraescolar, nas escolas públicas e particulares? Para a solução desse problema, a pesquisa foi desenvolvida em três fases: qualificação do projeto, coleta de dados e finalização da pesquisa. Na primeira fase foi usada pesquisa de cunho bibliográfico e documental. A coleta de dados foi feita em três escolas, sendo duas públicas (estadual e federal) e uma particular. Foi elaborado quatro questionários para conhecer melhoras informações dos sujeitos da pesquisa composta por: profissionais que atuam na biblioteca, 2 (dois) por escola; alunos, 15 (quinze por escola); professores, 8 (oito por escola) e o gestor da escola 1 (um por escola). Num total de 6 (seis) profissionais que atuam na biblioteca 45 (quarenta e cinco) alunos, 24 (vinte e quatro) professores e 3 (três) gestores. Porém, houve modificações quanto ao número de pesquisados, com exceção dos alunos. Assim, foi realizada a pesquisa com 04 (quatro) profissionais que atuam na biblioteca, sendo 3 (três) bibliotecários e 01 (um) auxiliar de biblioteca, 23 (vinte e três) professores, 2 (dois) gestores e 1 (um) subgestor. Na terceira fase da pesquisa, os dados quantitativos e coletados foram tabulados e posteriormente usados na construção de gráficos e tabelas. Os dados qualitativos também foram organizados e categorizados, em tabelas do Word, e todos condensados na pesquisa. Os dados, tanto quantitativos, quanto qualitativos, foram analisados à luz dos conhecimentos adquiridos com as leituras e fichamentos realizados na primeira fase da pesquisa. Quanto aos resultados, ficou comprovado que as bibliotecas das escolas estudadas são espaços interativos e mesmo sem possuírem grandes estruturas (exceção feita à Biblioteca da Escola Federal), todas executam projetos que favorecem a interação com os seus alunos e professores.@pt

The school library plays a significant role in the student´s daily life, which influences beyond the walls of the school. Considering the results obtained in the National Examination of Secondary Education (ENEM) in 2014, we sought to analyze the reality of the school library in Manaus-AM, in the private and public sphere (state and federal) and its influence on students´ educational performance. The research was funded by the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Amazonas (FAPEAM) through the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation Grants (PIBIC), the research was carried out from the second half of 2015 to the second half of 2016. The projects that these libraries develop, how they are perceived by students, teachers, professionals working in the library and managers. In this perspective, the problem points to: what is the interaction and performance that the school library exerts on the student in the intra and extracurricular context, in public and private schools? To solve this problem, the research was developed in three phases: project qualification, data collection and research completion. In the first phase, bibliographic and documentary research was used. Data collection was done in three schools, two public (state and federal) and one private. Four questionnaires were elaborated to obtain information about the subjects of the study: professionals working in the library, 2 (two) per school; 15 (fifteen per school); 8 (eight per school) and the school manager 1 (one per school). A total of 6 (six) professionals working in the library 45 (forty-five) students, 24 (twenty-four) teachers and 3 (three) managers. However, there were modifications regarding the number of students surveyed, with the exception of the students. Thus, a study was carried out with four (4) professionals working in the library, three (3) librarians and one (1) library assistant, 23 (twenty three) teachers, two (2) managers and one (1) sub-manager. In the third phase of the research, the quantitative and collected data were tabulated and later used in the construction of graphs and tables. The qualitative data were also organized and categorized, in tables of Word, and all condensed in the research. The data, both quantitative and qualitative, were analyzed based on the knowledge acquired from readings and recordings made in the first phase of the research. As for the results, it was verified that the libraries of the studied schools are interactive spaces and even without large structures (except for the Library of the Federal School), all of them execute projects that favor interaction with their students and teachers.@en
