A sociedade atual está mudando a uma velocidade cada vez maior. O bibliotecário precisa se manter atualizado com essas mudanças e incorporar novos conhecimentos, a fim de exercer bem seu papel social nesse cenário tão dinâmico. Discutem-se, neste trabalho, as formas de educação continuada, seus problemas e soluções; as responsabilidades das escolas de Biblioteconomia, das associações profissionais, das bibliotecas, das empresas de consultoria e do bibliotecário, quanto à educação continuada.@pt

Today´s society is changing at an increasing speed. The librarian must keep abreast of these changes and incorporate new knowledge in order to perform their social role as well as dynamic in this scenario. Are discussed in this work, the forms of continuing education, its problems and solutions; responsibilities of library schools, professional associations, libraries, consulting firms and the librarian, and continuing education.@en
