Analysis about the (weak) relation between Archival Science and quantitative / bibliometric studies

Estudo e análise identificando de que forma a disciplina arquivística utilizou-se de conceitos ligados ao estudo de metrias (Bibliometria, Cientometria, Informetria e Webometria), ou a outros tipos de analises quantitativas, em seu escopo teórico e prático. Essa pesquisa baseia-se em um levantamento bibliográfico de diferentes periódicos ligados a Arquivologia e ciência da informação, no período entre 1972 e 2011; da revisão de literatura de artigos e trabalhos que fizeram aproximações entre a Arquivística e esses tipos de estudos, e, de caráter complementar, análise de outras pesquisas (congressos e livros), que de alguma forma complementam essa discussão. Preliminarmente percebe-se que a produção acerca do tema pela arquivística encontra-se bastante limitada e reduzida, onde foram localizados apenas nove artigos em periódicos, duas comunicações em congressos e um livro utilizando ou discutindo esses métodos em seu escopo. Por outro lado, foi identificado também que a relação não é totalmente inexistente, onde foram localizados trabalhos que conseguem utilizar elementos quantitativos ou bibliométricos para analisar diferentes aspectos da área.@pt

Study and analysis identifying how the Archival Science use concepts related to the quantitative studies, specifically bibliometrics, scientometrics, informetrics and webometrics, in the theoretical and practical scope of the discipline. This research is based on a literature review of different journals related to Archival and Information science fields, between 1972 and 2011; a literature review with the articles, congress communications and books that discussed aspetcs about the relation of Archival Science and quantitative studies.
