Diversity at School: the experience of LEPED

Este artigo trata da evolução dos trabalhos do Laboratório de Estudos e Pesquisas em Ensino e Diversidade LEPED, da Faculdade de Educação/ UNICAMP, nas áreas de pesquisa e extensão, desde a sua fundação, em 1996. Cobre também o espaço de tempo que antecedeu à formação desse grupo de pesquisa, apresentando os estudos sobre o desenvolvimento cognitivo de alunos com déficits mentais e os projetos que derivaram dessas investigações. Ao narrarmos o desenvolvimento desse Laboratório, traçamos a sua trajetória, que parte do interesse pela educação especial de pessoas com deficiência mental e caminha na direção de uma escola aberta à diversidade, fundamentada nos princípios da inclusão.@pt

This article deals with the evolution to theworks to the Laboratory to Studies andResearch in Education and Diversity -LEPED, to the Faculty of Education /UNICAMP, in the extension andseek areas, since its foundation, in 1996. Ithas also covered the space of time that itpreceded to the formation of this group ofresearch, presenting the studies on thecognitivo development of mental pupilswith déficits and the designs that hadderived from these inquiries. When tellingthe development of this Laboratory, wetrace its path, that has left of the interest forthe special education of people with mentaldeficiency and walks in the route of anopen school to the diversity, based in theprinciples of the inclusion.@en
