A patente, considerada insuperável para a produção de tecnologia, tem dupla função: de fonte de informação e representação de conhecimento. Respaldadas na teoria da ação informacional referimos à tecnologia como dependente de uma necessidade de informação, atendida por várias fontes de provisão (internas e externas), executando ações em diferentes níveis. O estudo empírico investiga o uso da patente produção de nova tecnologia, por meio de entrevistas com especialistas que constituem o Quality Group da pesquisa. Vantagens e desvantagens são apresentadas, a importância da patente é reafirmada, porém, as informações são apenas para as atividades de registro de nova patente objetivando garantir monopólio ou licenciamento da tecnologia.@pt

The patent has double functions: one as source of information and another as element representative of knowledge, and it´s considerated source to production techonology. It has been studied through the theory of informations actions, assuming that the technology needs information, from any provision sources (inside and outside) to realize some differents actions. In the empirical phase the study usethe patent creating new technology througt interviews with specialists that constituting the Quality Group to the research. The advantages and disadvantages are showed, the importance of the patent is affirmed, but the informations are disponibilized to use only to the activities of new patent registration to objective monopoly and technology licence.@en
