Scientific productivity of the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chavez from 1946 to 2012

The purpose of this paper is to present a bibliometric analysis on the scientific productivity of the National Insti- tute of Cardiology Ignacio Chávez based on the Scopus information system. We retrieved information about the scientists and the journal of this institute. The information is presented in tables by author, journal title, year, au- thor affiliation, language, document type, country, keywords and number of authors of each record and citations, both by author and by article title. We identified the 62 most prolific authors and their productivity was analyzed by the quantity of publications, citations, publications by one author and first author, type of documents and publication years. We analyzed the documents with a high level of citations. It was observed that the increase in publications has been constant since 1946, especially since 2000. There are a significant percentage of articles with citations. Most articles are written in collaboration, often with other national and international institutions. In conclusion, we analyzed different aspects of the scientific productivity of this Institute. @en

El propósito de este trabajo es presentar un análisis bibliométrico sobre la productividad científica del Instituto Nacional de Cardiología Ignacio Chávez con base en el sistema de información especializada Scopus. Se recu- peró la información de los registros del instituto, su revista y sus investigadores y se presenta en tablas y gráficas por autores, títulos de revistas, años, afiliaciones de los autores, idiomas, tipos de documentos, países, temáticas y número de autores de cada registro y trabajos citados, tanto por autor, como por título del trabajo. Se iden- tificaron los autores más productivos y se analizó su productividad por trabajos publicados, trabajos citados, número de citas, autor único, primer autor, tipo de documento y años de publicación. Se reflejan los trabajos con mayor número de citas. Se observó que el incremento en publicaciones ha sido constante desde 1946, sobre todo a partir del año 2000. Un porcentaje importante de trabajos ha sido citado. La mayoría de los artículos han sido escritos en colaboración, muchas veces con otras instituciones nacionales e internacionales. En síntesis, se analizaron diferentes vertientes de la productividad científica del instituto. @es
