Este trabalho discute a formação do arquivista no contexto da emergência das novas tecnologias da informação e comunicação, estruturantes na sociedade atual e cada vez mais presentes. A relação entre memória e tecnologia ao longo da história da humanidade e as possibilidades do porvir iniciam a discussão acerca da formação do arquivista, que segue com a apresentação das recomendações da The Society of American Archivists quanto aos conhecimentos tecnológicos necessários aos arquivistas.@pt

This paper discusses the formation of archivists in the context of the emergence of the so-called New Information and Communication Technologies (NICTs), which today are structuring certain aspects of society. The relationship between memory and technology in History and the future possibilities iniciated the discussion on the archivist formation, that it follows with the presentation of the recommendations presented by The Society of American Archivists. They stablished, then, the technological knowledge the archivist should have.@en
