This review aims to summarize the book The social perspective in user studies in archives, libraries, and museums: theory and practice. Organized by Andréia Sousa da Silva and Fernanda Frasson Martendal, the book presents user studies in archives, libraries, and museums from a sociological perspective. The structure of the book is divided into three sections: epistemological discussions, teaching, and user studies put into practice. It presents a more theoretical discussion in its twelve chapters and in the preface. Throughout the book, it is not possible to identify sufficient information to understand the proposed theme in the museological field. In addition, there is a predominance of theorists from the field of Library and Information Science, even in the texts that deal with User Studies in the areas of Archivology and Museology. The book has the merit of being one of the few works dedicated entirely to the subject of user studies in Brazilian literature and presents some international experiences. It provides a theoretical and epistemological reflection, as well as a timid rehearsal of some practices on the subject in the fields of Archives and libraries, except in the field of museums.@en

A presente resenha objetiva sintetizar a obra “A perspectiva social nos estudos de usuários em arquivos, bibliotecas e museus: teoria e prática”. Organizada por Andréia Sousa da Silva e Fernanda Frasson Martendal, o livro apresenta estudos de usuários em arquivos, bibliotecas e museus por um viés sociológico. A estrutura do livro divide-se em três seções:  discussões epistemológicas, ensino e os estudos de usuários postos em prática. Apresenta em seus doze capítulos e no prefácio, uma discussão mais teórica. No decorrer da obra, não é possível identificar informações suficientes à compreensão da temática proposta no campo museológico. Além disso, há predominância de teóricos do campo da Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação, mesmo nos textos que tratam dos Estudos de Usuários nas áreas da Arquivologia e Museologia. A obra tem o mérito de ser uma das poucas obras dedicadas inteiramente ao assunto dos estudos de usuário, constantes na literatura brasileira, e apresenta algumas experiências internacionais. Sua tessitura traz a reflexão teórica, epistemológica, além de ensaiar de forma tímida, algumas práticas sobre o assunto nos campos dos Arquivos e Bibliotecas, exceto no campo dos museus.@pt
