Emerging Convergences: intersectional essays between information, memory and related fields such as Knowledge Organization, and Digital Preservation and Curation

It proposes a conceptual analysis in order to elucidate the convergent relationship between the activities that are characterized by the scientific, critical and technical practices of Knowledge Organization, Digital Preservation and Digital Curatorship and Memory studies. It aims to discuss issues related to the identification of Knowledge Organization within digital curatorial activities, understanding its possible implications for the preservation and access to institutional and scientific memory, which in turn, from an applied point of view, ultimately requires the existence of a repository for the safeguarding of digital objects. The methodology is classified as the initial materialization of a collective effort based on a deductive method, where we start from the basic characteristics of these activities already listed for the particular that is translated into the perspective of a convergent nature between them and is present through a basic, qualitative and exploratory research from a survey, followed by a debate, of the bibliography. It concludes that it is not possible to think about safeguarding digital objects without also reflecting critically on the criteria used for their description and on the vocabulary that enables their subsequent retrieval. Amidst so many nuances, it is still necessary to think about the proposition of policies that support the construction of a repository focused - not only - on the storage of digital objects, but also on the provision of access and the full management of their life cycle.@en

Propõe uma análise conceitual com o intuito de elucidar a relação convergente entre as atividades que se caracterizam pelo fazer científico, crítico e técnico das práticas da Organização do Conhecimento; da Preservação Digital e da Curadoria Digital e dos estudos da Memória. Tem como objetivo discutir questões referentes à identificação da Organização do Conhecimento dentro das atividades de curadoria digital, entendendo suas possíveis implicações para com a preservação e o acesso à memória institucional e científica, que por sua vez, do ponto de vista aplicado, acaba por requerer a existência de um repositório para a salvaguarda de objetos digitais. A metodologia é classificada como a materialização inicial de um esforço coletivo calcado em um método dedutivo, onde partimos das características básicas dessas atividades já listadas para o particular que se traduz na perspectiva de natureza convergente entre elas e se faz presente por meio de uma pesquisa de ordem básica, qualitativa e exploratória a partir de um levantamento, seguido de debate, bibliográfico. Conclui-se que não é possível pensar na salvaguarda de objetos digitais sem que também haja uma reflexão crítica sobre os critérios utilizados para sua descrição e sobre o vocabulário que viabiliza sua posterior recuperação. Em meio a tantas nuances, ainda é necessário pensar na proposição de políticas que fundamentam a construção de um repositório voltado — não só — para o armazenamento dos objetos digitais, como também para a disposição do acesso e para o gerenciamento pleno por todo o seu ciclo de vida.@pt
