Research groups are seemed as a community composed by professors, students and/or technicians who mobilize around a line of research to explore scientifically. In the context of the Brazilian university, the mission is to establish itself in the promotion of pluriversity knowledge, which runs in favor of solidarity between citizens, peace and social justice. In the context of public universities, research groups seek to develop such a mission from initiatives not only in the sphere of research, but also of the other elements of the university triad: teaching and extension. The text presents the social context, activities and future perspectives of the Research Group Information Literacy and Mediation – Competência em Informação e Mediação to Portuguese language. This is a research group that seeks to develop activities to promote information literacy. In order to carry out the task, in the text seeks: a) to present the movement of information literacy and its current trends in the scientific context of Brazil; b) to Insert the movement of information in the environment of the northern region of Brazil and, especially, in the state of Rondônia; c) to characterize of the research group, regarding the historical context of the foundation, developed and glimpses of a near future.@en

Grupos de pesquisa são reconhecidos como agrupamentos de pesquisadores, estudantes e/ou técnicos que se mobilizam em torno de uma linha de pesquisa para buscar explorá-la cientificamente. No contexto da universidade pública brasileira, cuja missão se assenta na promoção de conhecimento pluriversitário em prol da soliedariedade entre cidadãos, da paz e da justiça social, os grupos de pesquisa buscam desenvolver tal missão a partir de iniciativas não só na esfera da pesquisa, mas também dos outros elementos da tríade universitária: ensino e extensão. O texto propõe apresentar o contexto social, as atividades e as perspectivas futuras do Grupo de Pesquisa Competência em Informação e Mediação (GCInMe), que se trata de um grupo que busca desenvolver atividades para a promoção da competência em informação. Para a consecução da tarefa, no texto, são: apresentados: a) o movimento da competência em informação e as suas discussões atuais no contexto científico do Brasil; b) inserir o movimento da competência em informação no cenário da região norte do Brasil e, especialmente, no estado de Rondônia; c) caracterizar o grupo de pesquisa Competência em Informação e Mediação (GCInMe), no que tange ao contexto histórico de fundação, atividades desenvolvidas e vislumbres de um futuro próximo.@pt
