The social role of universities turns to the development of the environment in which it is an integral part. This means to emphasize that, in addition to the integral training of the egress, who will work in the labor market, universities, through teaching, research and extension actions, need to establish an interaction with society, In order to put into practice the suggestions presented by the academic community, together with teaching and research actions. For this, it is up to the research pillar to build new knowledge to be applied to society, for the sake of their well-being. In this perspective, research groups begin to play a relevant role. For this reason, this manuscript aims to present the trajectory of the Research Group in Information and Communication (GRUPIC), belonging to the Faculty of Information and Communication of the Federal University of Amazonas (FIC/UFAM) actions carried out over its four years of existence. From the balance sheet presented, it is considered that the results obtained were positive. The article is expected to serve as inspiration for the creation of new research groups.@en

O papel social das universidades se volta para o desenvolvimento do meio em que é parte integrante. Isso significa frisar que, além da formação integral do egresso, o qual atuará no mercado de trabalho, as universidades, por meio das ações de ensino, pesquisa e extensão, necessitam estabelecer uma interação com a sociedade, a fim de colocar em práticas as sugestões apresentadas pela comunidade acadêmica, junto às ações de ensino e pesquisa. Para isso, cabe ao pilar da pesquisa a construção de novos conhecimentos a serem aplicados à sociedade, em prol de seu bem-estar. Nesta perspectiva, os grupos de pesquisa passam a exercer um papel relevante. Por esta razão, este manuscrito visa apresentar a trajetória do Grupo de Pesquisa em Informação e Comunicação (GRUPIC), pertencente à Faculdade de Informação e Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (FIC/UFAM), dando ênfase às ações realizadas ao longo dos seus quatro anos de existência. Do balanço apresentado, considera-se que os resultados obtidos foram positivos. Espera-se que o artigo sirva de inspiração para a criação de novos grupos de pesquisa.@pt
