The mediation of information has positioned itself as a topic of study in expansion in the field of Science and can be approached by exploring its possible contributions in several other areas of knowledge. This article aims at a study of the type of experience report that approaches the formation of the research group of study on mediation of the information developed in the Post-Graduate Program in Science of the Information (PPGCI) of the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp). In addition to presenting a timeline on the origin and qualitative evolution of the Group´s academic production, specifically in the Meetings of Research Line 3: “Management, Mediation and Use of Information”. Methodologically, it is a descriptive and exploratory study, in which both the questionnaire and documentary research were adopted, on the one hand, to be able to know the members of the group, their interests and values, and on the other hand, to be able to radiograph the academic production presented in the expanded summaries of the dissertations and theses on information mediation. As a result, it illustrates, in figures and tables, data from the members of the research group, such as the methods used, as well as the approaches of interest, in addition to the integration of the themes Information and Society. As final considerations, the research group facilitates the exchange of knowledge and the construction of collaborative networks, thus enhancing the training and training of professionals with multicultural skills and global thinking. It also shows in figures how the study of Information Mediation is on the rise within Research Line 3: “Management, Mediation and Use of Information” at PPGCI-Unesp.@en

A mediação da informação tem se posicionado como tema de estudo em expansão no campo da Ciência, podendo ser abordado explorando suas possíveis contribuições em diversas outras áreas do conhecimento. Este artigo objetiva um estudo do tipo relato de experiência que aborda a formação do grupo de pesquisa de estudo sobre mediação da informação desenvolvido no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação (PPGCI) da Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp). Além de apresentar uma linha do tempo sobre a origem e evolução qualitativa da produção acadêmica do Grupo, especificamente nas Reuniões da Linha de Pesquisa 3: “Gestão, Mediação e Uso da Informação”. Metodologicamente, é um estudo descritivo e exploratório, em que foi adotado tanto o questionário quanto pesquisa documental, por uma parte poder conhecer aos integrantes do grupo, seus interesses e valores, e por outro lado, poder radiografar a produção acadêmica apresentadas nos resumos expandidos das dissertações e teses sobre mediação da informação. Como resultados, ilustra, em figuras e quadros, dados dos integrantes do grupo de pesquisa, como os métodos utilizados, assim como as abordagens de interesse, além da integração das temáticas Informação e Sociedade. Como considerações finais, o grupo de pesquisa facilita a troca de conhecimento e construção de redes de colaboração e assim, se potencializa a formação e capacitação de profissionais com competências multiculturais e pensamento global. Também mostra em cifras como o estudo da Mediação da Informação vai em ascensão dentro da Linha de Pesquisa 3: “Gestão, Mediação e Uso da Informação” no PPGCI-Unesp.@pt
