This article aims to present elements of the constitution and results of actions carried out by the Reading and Information Mediation Group (MIL), linked to the Institute of Human Sciences and Information of the Federal University of Rio Grande - FURG, located in southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Since 2013, the members of the MIL Group have developed interdisciplinary projects of Research, Teaching and Extension related to the mediation of information and reading in formal and informal education spaces. They are part of the group, teachers, undergraduate and graduate students, and librarian researchers at FURG and other institutions. As objectives the group foresees: a) Carry out investigations about the mediation of reading and information in different contexts; b) Investigate the mediation of information in different spaces and by different subjects; c) Promote teaching actions related to the promotion of reading; d) Encourage extension actions related to encouraging reading and information mediation; e) Foster research, and teaching and extension actions on information literacy. The actions are linked to the information Literacy Laboratory (LABCOINFO).@en

O presente artigo  tem  como objetivo apresentar elementos da constituição e resultados de ações realizadas pelo Grupo MIL - Mediação da Leitura e Informação, vinculado ao Instituto de Ciências Humanas e da Informação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande – FURG, localizada no sul do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Desde 2013, os integrantes do Grupo MIL desenvolvem projetos interdisciplinares de Pesquisa, Ensino e Extensão relacionados à mediação da informação e da leitura em espaços formais e informais de educação.  Integram o grupo, docentes, alunos de graduação e pós-graduação e pesquisadores bibliotecários da FURG e de outras instituições. Como objetivos o grupo prevê: a) Realizar Investigações acerca da mediação da leitura e da informação em diferentes contextos; b) Investigar a mediação da informação em distintos espaços e por diferentes sujeitos; c) Promover ações de ensino relacionadas à promoção da leitura; d) Incentivar ações de extensão relacionadas ao incentivo à leitura e mediação da informação; e) Fomentar pesquisas, e ações de ensino e extensão sobre competência em informação. As ações estão vinculadas ao Laboratório de Competência em Informação (LABCOINFO).@pt
