The present study aims to demonstrate the scientific and social contributions of the Center for Studies and Research in Information Literacy (GPCIn), created in 2006 by researchers linked to the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Data were collected from the Lattes Curriculuns of 24 Brazilian researchers and students who are members of the GPCIn and the academic and scientific production from 2006 to August 2022 was analyzed. The results show that the group developed research and extension projects, dissertation and doctoral thesis with different theoretical bases. In addition, books, book chapters, scientific articles in conference proceedings and articles in scientific journals were published. It concludes that the GPCIn has been fulfilling its mission of promoting Information Literacy, contributing to the scientific evolution of the subject and, at the same time, following the people´s social needs.@en
