The experience lived by librarians working in Grande Vitória - Espírito Santo with the Biblivre program - the free software for cataloging, administration and dissemination of library collections, is the focus of this research. The study has a qualitative nature, uses discourse analysis and an interview was also carried out with 10 school librarians working in the region of Grande Vitória - ES, users of the software, to verify the perceptions of school librarians who work in school libraries in the Região metropolitana da Grande Vitória, Brazil. The scientific literature on Biblivre is analyzed based on an integrative bibliographic review of the literature indexed in information science databases. It appears that the literature about Biblivre is still very incipient, even so, it is observed in reports that the free library system is widely disseminated in the national territory. It was concluded in the experiences and reports of school librarians that the Biblivre software can be described as an online and free platform, and a great option for automating and organizing the collection of libraries and information units, in environments of scarcity of funds and public policy. Biblivre focuses on tools for cataloging and dissemination of the catalog and situates the dynamics and weaknesses of technology that should include everyone. Thus, the Biblivre theme encompasses a diversity of applications and practices, having the broad function of promoting access to information, facilitating the viability of a network of learning and collaboration - the software is thus an unpretentious treasure and in an interdisciplinary sphere involves management collections and rights.@en

A experiência vivenciada por bibliotecários atuantes da Grande Vitória - Espírito Santo com o programa Biblivre - o software livre para catalogação, administração e divulgação de acervos de bibliotecas, é o enfoque dessa pesquisa. O estudo tem natureza qualitativa, utiliza a análise de discurso e também foi realizada uma entrevista com 10 bibliotecários escolares atuantes na região da Grande Vitória – ES, usuários do software, para verificar as percepções dos bibliotecários escolares que atuam em bibliotecas escolares da Região metropolitana da Grande Vitória. Analisa-se a literatura científica sobre o Biblivre com base em uma revisão bibliográfica integrativa da literatura indexada em bases de dados da ciência da informação. Constata-se que a literatura acerca do software ainda é muito incipiente, ainda assim, observa-se em relatos que o sistema de biblioteca livre é vastamente disseminado no território nacional. Concluiu-se nas experiências e relatos dos bibliotecários escolares que o software Biblivre, pode ser descrito como uma plataforma online e gratuita, e uma ótima opção para automatização e organização do acervo de bibliotecas e unidades de informação, em ambiências de escassez de verbas e de políticas públicas. O Biblivre enfoca ferramentas para catalogação e divulgação do catálogo e situam as dinâmicas e as fragilidades da tecnologia que deveria incluir a todos. Assim, a temática Biblivre abarca uma diversidade de aplicações e práticas, tendo a ampla função de promover o acesso à informação, facilitando a viabilização de uma rede de aprendizagens e colaboração – o software é assim um despretensioso tesouro e em uma interdisciplinar esfera envolve a gestão de acervos e direitos.@pt
