The editorial comments on the rereading of the document âTo be or not to be a librarian,â written by Professor Edson Nery da Fonseca and published in 1966. Even though more than 56 years have passed since the first publication of this text, this rereading pointed out two aspects: the first , is that this true manifesto against the inertia of the Brazilian librarian could, with few repairs, be published today. The second aspect is that many of the things mentioned still cry out for solutions in this troubled Brazilian librarianship context. In addition, the articles included in the third issue of 2022 of the Ibero-American Journal of Information Science are commented.@en

El editorial comenta la relectura del documento “Ser o no ser bibliotecario”, del profesor Edson Nery da Fonseca, y publicado en 1966. Si bien han transcurrido más de 56 años desde la primera publicación de este texto, esta relectura apuntó dos aspectos: el primero, es que este verdadero manifiesto contra la inercia del bibliotecario brasileño podría, con pocas reparaciones, publicarse tranquilamente hoy. El segundo aspecto es que muchas de las cosas mencionadas todavía claman por soluciones en este contexto conflictivo de la biblioteconomía brasileña. Además, se comentan los artículos incluidos en el tercer número de 2022 de la Revista Iberoamericana de Ciencias de la Información.@es

O editorial comenta a releitura do documento “Ser ou não ser bibliotecário”, publicado em 1966, de autoria do Professor Edson Nery da Fonseca. Mesmo tendo transcorrido mais de 56 anos da primeira publicação desse texto, esta releitura apontou dois aspectos: o primeiro, é que esse verdadeiro manifesto contra a inércia do bibliotecário brasileiro, poderia, com poucos reparos, ser tranquilamente publicado nos tempos atuais. O segundo aspecto, é que muitas das coisas apontadas ainda clamam por soluções nesse conturbado contexto biblioteconômico brasileiro.
