Curadoria Digital em Acervos do Patrimônio Cultural Digital: aspectos teóricos e práticos no âmbito da Ciência da Informação

Digital curation on digital cultural heritage collections: theoretical and practical aspects in the field of Information Science

The advance of information technology has enabled the migration of analog objects to the digital environment, allowing memory institutions, linked to cultural heritage, new alternatives to manage their data. Digital curation becomes relevant in this new context of accelerated production of data and metadata, both in the management and in the availability of collections on the Internet, allowing informational cultural heritage to enter the digital environment. The objective is to present the role of digital curation in cultural heritage collections. Content analysis is used as a methodology to propose categories of analysis, survey and literature review on digital curation in cultural heritage collections, in order to understand the state of the art of this theme in Information Science. The background and historical trajectory of digital curation are presented, as well as a current overview of digital curation in the scope of Information Science, indicating opportunities and challenges relevant to the development of digital platforms of cultural heritage with network quality through actions of well-planned digital curation, supported by the fields of information and technology.@en

O avanço da tecnologia de informação propiciou a migração de objetos analógicos para o ambiente digital, permitindo às instituições de memória, ligadas ao patrimônio cultural, novas alternativas para gerir seus dados. A curadoria digital torna-se relevante nesse novo contexto de produção acelerada de dados e metadados, tanto na gestão quanto na disponibilização de acervos na Internet permitindo ao patrimônio cultural informacional adentrar o ambiente digital. Objetiva-se apresentar o papel da curadoria digital em acervos do patrimônio cultural. Utiliza-se da análise de conteúdo como metodologia para proposição de categorias de análise, levantamento e revisão de literatura sobre a curadoria digital em acervos do patrimônio cultural, a fim de compreender o estado da arte desse tema na Ciência da Informação. Apresentam-se os antecedentes e o trajeto histórico da curadoria digital, assim como um panorama atual da curadoria digital no escopo da Ciência da Informação, indicando oportunidades e desafios pertinentes ao desenvolvimento de plataformas digitais do patrimônio cultural com qualidade em rede por meio de ações de curadoria digital bem planejada, apoiadas aos campos da informação e da tecnologia.@pt
