Práticas informacionais de sujeitos surdos na Biblioteca Universitária Joaquim Cardozo da UFPE

Informational practices of deaf subjects at the Joaquim Cardozo University Library at UFPE

This paper is configured as a case study to discuss the informational practices directed to deaf people as an element of inclusion in the Joaquim Cardoso Library (BJC) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), in order to identify what informational practices are being developed by these users and if the products and services made available by the unit are in accordance with the informational needs of this group. The paper discusses the importance of information and its role in communication, which reflects on informational practices through customer service and services, moving towards a mediation adapted to all those who frequent information spaces such as libraries. It also addresses that implicit to the service is the need and understanding of the field of accessibility for inclusion practices, in which places what type of accessibility is configured in the sphere of inclusive interaction with deaf individuals, in this case the communicational accessibility, and the considerable understanding of what is language and language as well as its social role for a better adaptation and understanding of the relevance of inserting and using the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) as a communication tool more present in the service within these spaces with deaf individuals. The research is characterized as exploratory since it uses bibliographic records that address the context presented and for seeking to understand the services expressed in the unit studied, as well as qualitative explore through a questionnaire the interpretation given to these services by deaf individuals who attend the Center for Arts and Communication of UFPE and the library studied that is located there, aiming to understand how they see the unit and the services provided by them and what can be adapted to better serve them. Given the results obtained with the study, it was realized the importance of dialogue with the library policies and propositions that benefit and fit the information needs of deaf people, as well as the relevance of interacting with this audience for a better adaptation and inclusion of accessible services to the means used by them and according to their rights.@en

O presente trabalho configura-se como um estudo de caso voltado para discutir as práticas informacionais direcionadas aos sujeitos surdos como elemento de inclusão na Biblioteca Joaquim Cardoso (BJC) na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), com a finalidade de identificar quais práticas informacionais estão sendo desenvolvidas por esses usuários e se os produtos e serviços disponibilizados pela unidade estão de acordo com as necessidades informacionais desse grupo. O trabalho discorre sobre a importância da informação e seu papel para a comunicação que reflete nas práticas informacionais por meio do atendimento e serviços, caminhando para uma mediação adaptada à todo àquele que frequenta os espaços de informação como as bibliotecas. Aborda também que implícito ao atendimento está a necessidade e compreensão do campo da acessibilidade para as práticas de inclusão, em que coloca qual o tipo de acessibilidade se configura na esfera da interação inclusiva com os sujeitos surdos, no caso a acessibilidade comunicacional, e a considerável compreensão dàquilo que seja língua e linguagem bem como seu papel social para uma melhor adaptação e entendimento da relevância em inserir e utilizar a Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras) como uma ferramenta de comunicação mais presente no atendimento dentro desses espaços com os sujeitos surdos. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como exploratória uma vez que utiliza de registros bibliográficos que abordem o contexto apresentado e por buscar entender os serviços expressos na unidade estudada, bem como qualitativa explorar por meio de questionário a interpretação dada a esses serviços pelos sujeitos surdos que frequentam o Centro de Artes e Comunicação da UFPE e a biblioteca estudada que está situada no mesmo, tendo por objetivo compreender como eles enxergam a unidade e os serviços prestados por elas e o que pode vir a ser adaptado para melhor atendê-los. Diante dos resultados obtidos com o estudo, percebeu-se a importância em dialogar junto à biblioteca políticas e proposições que beneficiem e se enquadrem nas necessidades informacionais dos sujeitos surdos, bem como a relevância em interagir com esse público para uma melhor adaptação e inclusão de serviços acessíveis aos meios utilizados por eles e de acordo com seus direitos.@pt
