El frente de investigación de meditación en la Web de la Ciencia: enfoque en Estados Unidos y Inglaterra

Objective: To analyze the research front from two countries that lead the theme meditation referring to the indexed articles (Web of Science), from 2009 to 2018. Methods: This is a scientometric  and descriptive study. In this study is applied the model was developed by Alvarado (2009) that identify and explain the variables that influence the composition of the research fronts of a field of knowledge. Results: It is identified the active research fronts of the USA and England about the theme meditation. The study presents the existence of covariation between the frequency of citations and the level of productivity of the authors and it was concluded that both variables are dependent. Thus, the higher the productivity of an author, the greater the chances of that author receiving citations, the opposite also prevailing. Conclusion: It is believed that the contribution of this study to Information Science lies in the fact of exposing the qualification that the author must present to compose the research front of an area of knowledge.@en

Objetivo: Analizar el frente de investigación de los países líderes sobre el tema de la meditación refiriéndose a los artículos indexados en la base Web of Science, de 2009 a 2018. Métodos: Enfoque cienciométrico, descriptivo. En este estudio, se aplica el modelo desarrollado por Alvarado (2009), que identifica y explica las variables que influyen en la composición de los frentes de investigación en un campo de conocimiento. Resultados: Se identifican los frentes de investigación activos de los Estados Unidos e Inglaterra sobre el tema de la meditación. El estudio muestra la existencia de covarianza entre la frecuencia de citas y el nivel de productividad de los autores y concluyó que ambas variables son dependientes. Por lo tanto, cuanto mayor es la productividad de un autor, mayores son las posibilidades de que ese autor reciba citas, y lo contrario también prevalece. Conclusiones: Se cree que la contribución de este estudio a la Ciencia de la Información radica en el hecho de exponer la calificación que el autor debe presentar para componer el frente de investigación de un área de conocimiento.@es

Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo cientométrico, descritivo, de abordagem quantitativa. Neste estudo adota-se o modelo desenvolvido por Alvarado (2009) que permite identificar e explicar as variáveis que influenciam na composição das frentes de pesquisa de um campo do conhecimento. Resultados: Como resultado, identificam-se as frentes de pesquisa ativa dos Estados Unidos e Inglaterra sobre a temática meditação. O estudo apresenta a existência de covariação entre a frequência de citações e o nível de produtividade dos autores e concluiu que ambas as variáveis são dependentes. Assim, quanto maior a produtividade de um autor maior são as chances de esse autor receber citações, prevalecendo também o sentido inverso.
