Convergences between digital curation and information design in the post custodial context of information science

Objective: Identify the approximations between Digital Curation (DC) and Information Design (ID) in the context of Information Science (IS) and point out the contributions of these convergences to the efficiency and effectiveness of information curation on Web environments. Methodology: The methodology applied theoretical and exploratory with a qualitative approach, from bibliographic searches and systematization of the retrieved data. Thus, the main concepts of DC and ID as disciplines in the context of IS were retrieved, the convergences between the disciplines in the context of IS as an interdisciplinary area were presented and discussed. Results: The curation of digital information according to the criteria of the DC provides subsidies to improve the processes of each stage of its life cycle. ID and its dimensions, in turn, subsidize the planning and development of digital environments with a focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the information communicated. In the theoretical-practical scope, the convergences between the actions of DC and the dimensions of ID provide opportunities for their multidirectional complementation. Considerations: The convergences between DC and the ID were demonstrated by the combination of elements present in subgroups of DC actions with elements present in the systematization of the ID in dimensions. There were points in common between the two disciplines that indicate the need for the convergence of their resources in the search for solutions to problems involved in the curation of digital information. The hypothesis that the two disciplines converge and potentialize solutions of complex informational problems in this context is confirmed.@en

Objetivo: Identificar as aproximações entre a Curadoria Digital (CD) e o Design da Informação (DI) no contexto da Ciência da Informação (CI) e pontuar as contribuições dessas convergências para a eficiência e a eficácia da curadoria da informação em ambientes Web. Metodologia: A metodologia empregada é de caráter teórico-exploratório e de abordagem qualitativa, a partir do levantamento bibliográfico e da sistematização dos dados recuperados. Assim, foram resgatados os principais conceitos da CD e do DI enquanto disciplinas no contexto da CI. Por fim, as convergências das disciplinas no contexto da CI enquanto área de estudos interdisciplinar foram apresentadas e discutidas. Resultados: A curadoria da informação digital conforme critérios da CD fornece subsídios para aprimorar os processos de cada etapa do seu ciclo de vida. O DI e suas dimensões, por sua vez, subsidia o planejamento e a elaboração de ambientes digitais com foco na melhoria da eficiência e da eficácia da informação comunicada. Em âmbito teórico-prático, as convergências entre as ações da CD e as dimensões do DI oportunizam a sua complementação multidirecional. Considerações: Ficaram demonstradas as convergências entre a CD e o DI a partir da combinação de elementos presentes em subgrupos de ações da CD com elementos presentes na sistematização do DI em dimensões. Foram evidenciados pontos em comum entre as duas disciplinas que indicam a necessidade da convergência de seus recursos na busca por soluções a problemas envolvidos na curadoria da informação digital. Confirma-se a hipótese de que as duas disciplinas convergem no contexto da CI e potencializam a solução de problemas informacionais complexos nesse contexto.@pt
