Análise histórica sobre o desenvolvimento da Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação em Angola, Moçambique e Etiópia

Historical analysis about the development of Librarianship and Information Science in Angola, Mozambique and Ethiopia

This study is a historical analysis based on the review of literature of secondary sources, identifying the development of Information Science and Librarianship in Angola, Mozambique and Ethiopia between the second half of the 1970s and the first years of the 21st century, and how these disciplines were developed in the three countries most aligned to the former communist bloc. This work initially made a historical analysis of the origins of Angola, Mozambique and Ethiopiaâs appearance in the world scenario in the mid-seventies. Afterwards, this research discusses the relationship of the Librarianship and Information Science scene in Angola, Mozambique and Ethiopia with the socialist bloc and Western countries, and the evolution of the disciplines in these three countries in a separated way. This research found that, despite the problems suffered by these fields in Angola, Ethiopia and Mozambique, the Librarianship and Information Science scenes in these countries present consistency in their structure, with courses and libraries in activity@en

Análise histórica, a partir de levantamento bibliográfico e revisão de literatura em fontes secundárias, sobre o desenvolvimento e principais características dos campos em biblioteconomia e ciência da informação em Angola, Moçambique e Etiópia, entre a segunda metade dos anos 1970 até os primeiros anos do século XXI. A pesquisa objetivou identificar como essas disciplinas foram desenvolvidas nos três países africanos que tiveram maior relação com o antigo bloco comunista. O artigo incialmente apresenta breve pano de fundo sobre o surgimento de Angola, Moçambique e Etiópia no cenário internacional a partir de meados dos anos 1970. Posteriormente, analisou como se deu a relação entre a biblioteconomia e ciência da informação dessas nações com o bloco socialista e os países ocidentais, e, por fim, apresentou a evolução dessas áreas nos três países, discutindo separadamente cada cenário. A pesquisa apresenta que os campos em biblioteconomia e ciência da informação angolano, moçambicano e etíope se consolidaram, apesar de décadas de guerra civil e instabilidade interna, com cursos e bibliotecas públicas e privadas em atividade.@pt
