O presente artigo apresenta um breve histórico dos clubes de leitura do século XVII ao século XXI como espaço de articulação e organização cultural, política e social entre mulheres, além de problematizar o escasso protagonismo para a mulher na literatura. Tem por objetivo central relatar as experiências do Clube de Leitura Leia Mulheres no munícipio de Marília, São Paulo. Os Clubes de Leitura possibilitam a troca de experiências e no caso do Leia Mulheres alia a proposta de incentivar a leitura e discussão de obras escritas por mulheres perpassando os diversos gêneros e temáticas e contemplando autoras de variadas nacionalidades. Busca abrir espaço no mercado literário e editorial para a autoria feminina por meio de encontros mensais mediados também por mulheres em vinte e cinco estados brasileiros. @pt

This article presents a brief history of book clubs from the 17th to 21st century as a space for articulation and cultural, political and social organization among women, as well as problematizing the scarce role for women in literature. Its main objective is to report the experiences of the Book Club Leia Mulheres in Marília, São Paulo. The Book Clubs allow the exchange of experiences and in the case of Leia Mulheres, the proposal to encourage the reading and discussion of works written by women across different genres and themes and contemplating authors of various nationalities. It seeks to open space in the literary and editorial market for female authorship through monthly meetings also held by women in twenty-five states of Brazil. @en
