                    [0] => This study analyzes power relations within Knowledge Organization (KO), highlighting how traditional systems reproduce Eurocentric epistemologies and marginalize Black knowledge. The objective is to examine the classificatory principles developed by Dorothy Porter Wesley and her contribution to the representation of Black intellectual production as a counter-hegemonic practice. The theoretical framework is grounded in discussions on the coloniality of knowledge, informational justice, and critiques of racial bias in classification systems. Methodologically, the study is characterized as basic and qualitative research, adopting a convenience-based approach and employing bibliographic research procedures combined with thematic analysis. Partial results indicate that Dorothy Porter Wesley’s classification functioned as a counter-hegemonic practice by breaking with the logic of the Dewey Decimal Classification, which rendered Afro-diasporic themes invisible. Wesley developed an independent classificatory structure that challenged Eurocentric hegemony through the creation of specific categories and the expansion of controlled vocabulary, thereby legitimizing the intellectual production of the African diaspora. The final considerations highlight that confronting racial bias in Knowledge Organization transcends technical issues, requiring an ethical and political stance from information professionals. It is concluded that Dorothy Porter Wesley’s classificatory methodology constitutes a key reference for counter-hegemonic practices aimed at the decolonization of knowledge and the promotion of epistemic justice in informational environments.

                    [1] => Este estudo analisa as relações de poder na Organização e Representação do Conhecimento (ORC), destacando como os sistemas classificatórios reproduzem epistemologias eurocêntricas e marginalizam saberes negros. O objetivo é analisar, em perspectiva teórica, a classificação desenvolvida por Dorothy Porter Wesley para a produção intelectual negra, com base em seu caráter contra-hegemônico no âmbito da organização e representação do conhecimento. O referencial teórico se fundamenta nas discussões sobre colonialidade do saber, justiça informacional e crítica ao viés racial nos sistemas de classificação. Metodologicamente, trata-se de uma pesquisa básica, de abordagem qualitativa e caráter exploratório, desenvolvida por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e análise temática. Os resultados iniciais indicam que a classificação desenvolvida por Dorothy Porter Wesley operou como uma prática contra-hegemônica ao romper com a lógica da Classificação Decimal de Dewey, a qual invisibilizava temas afro-diaspóricos. Wesley elaborou uma estrutura própria que desafiou a hegemonia eurocêntrica por meio da criação de categorias específicas e da ampliação vocabular, conferindo legitimidade à produção intelectual da diáspora africana. Conclui-se que o enfrentamento do viés racial na ORC transcende questões técnicas, exigindo dos profissionais uma postura ética e política que deve ser construída desde a formação, por meio da revisão curricular, da educação antirracista, decolonial e intercultural e da promoção de experiências didático-pedagógicas voltadas aos saberes ancestrais e tradicionais. Nesse sentido, a proposta classificatória de Dorothy Porter Wesley constitui um importante referencial para a construção de práticas contra-hegemônicas voltadas à decolonização dos saberes e à promoção da justiça epistêmica nos ambientes informacionais.@pt
