                    [0] => Subject analysis is a central stage of indexing, responsible for identifying and representing the thematic content of documents and directly influencing the effectiveness of Information Retrieval Systems. Despite its importance, the field encompasses different methodological proposals developed from epistemological, cognitive, normative, and sociocultural perspectives, with no consensus regarding a single methodological approach. This article aims to map and critically systematize the main subject analysis methodologies developed in Library and Information Science. The study adopts a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach based on a narrative literature review. The bibliographic survey identified 144 documents, of which 53 constituted the analytical corpus used to systematize the methodologies, while an additional 13 documents were employed to complement the theoretical framework and support the discussion of the findings. The methodologies were examined according to four analytical dimensions: theoretical foundations, methodological strategies, operationalization and applicability, and contributions and limitations. They were subsequently organized into six predominant approaches: empirical heuristics, relational, cognitive, constructionist, normative, and observational. The findings show that the evolution of these methodologies has accompanied broader epistemological changes in Knowledge Organization and demonstrate that no single methodology is sufficient to address the complexity of subject analysis. By bringing together and critically examining these proposals, the study provides an overview of the main subject analysis methodologies and offers a foundation for future research and for improving indexing practices.@en
                    [1] => A análise de assunto constitui a etapa central da indexação, sendo responsável pela identificação e representação temática dos documentos e influenciando diretamente a eficácia dos sistemas de recuperação da informação. Apesar de sua relevância, o campo reúne diferentes propostas metodológicas, desenvolvidas sob perspectivas epistemológicas, cognitivas, normativas e socioculturais, sem que haja consenso quanto à adoção de uma metodologia única. Este artigo tem como objetivo mapear e sistematizar criticamente as principais metodologias de análise de assunto desenvolvidas na Biblioteconomia e na Ciência da Informação. A pesquisa adota abordagem qualitativa, de natureza exploratória e descritiva, desenvolvida por meio de revisão narrativa da literatura. O levantamento bibliográfico identificou 144 documentos, dos quais 53 compuseram o corpus analítico destinado à sistematização das metodologias, enquanto outros 13 foram utilizados para complementar a fundamentação teórica e a discussão dos resultados. As metodologias foram examinadas segundo quatro dimensões analíticas: fundamentos teóricos, estratégias metodológicas, operacionalidade e aplicabilidade, e contribuições e limitações, sendo posteriormente agrupadas em seis abordagens predominantes: heurísticas empíricas, relacionais, cognitivas, construcionistas, normativas e observacionais. A análise evidencia que a evolução dessas propostas acompanha as transformações epistemológicas da Organização do Conhecimento e demonstra que nenhuma metodologia, isoladamente, contempla a complexidade da análise de assunto. Ao reunir e analisar criticamente essas propostas, o estudo oferece um panorama das principais metodologias de análise de assunto e fornece subsídios para futuras pesquisas e para o aperfeiçoamento das práticas de indexação.@pt
