                                            [0] => Objective: To examine the process of constitution and development of library science thought up to the first half of the 20th century. Methodology: Using documentary research as a methodological tool, this examination utilizes appropriate bibliographic sources to delineate the social, theoretical, and scientific circumstances that conditioned the scenarios serving as a platform for the emergence of conceptual and theoretical perspectives in the development of Library Science. Results: The analysis reveals the set of thinkers who shaped the existence of library science thought and the proposals that comprise it. Conclusions: The construction process of Library Science and its thought has traversed diverse and markedly different temporal circumstances. The specific formalization of this space dates back to the 19th century; the years following its founding are distinguished by notable efforts in the search for a conceptual and theoretical foundation that would allow it to establish its legitimacy as a field of knowledge with its corresponding thinkers. Originality/Value: This study provides an insight into the distinctive elements of library science thought and its most representative authors up to the first half of the 20th century, basing the analysis on the epochal circumstances that frame the discourses examined.
                                            [1] => Objetivo: Examinar el proceso de constitución y desarrollo del pensamiento bibliotecológico, hasta la primera mitad del siglo XX. Metodología: Mediante la investigación documental como herramienta metodológica; este examen utiliza las fuentes bibliográficas adecuadas que permiten delimitar las circunstancias sociales, teóricas y científicas que condicionaron los escenarios que sirvieron de plataforma para la aparición de las perspectivas conceptuales y teóricas en el devenir de la Bibliotecología. Resultados: Se visibilizan en el análisis el conjunto de pensadores que conformaron la existencia de un pensamiento en Bibliotecología y las propuestas que lo conforman Conclusiones: El proceso de construcción de la Bibliotecología y su pensamiento ha transitado por circunstancias temporales diversas y marcadamente diferentes. La formalización puntual de este espacio se inserta en el siglo XIX, los años posteriores a su fundación se distinguen por los notables esfuerzos realizados en la búsqueda de una fundamentación conceptual y teórica que le permitiese establecer su legitimidad como campo de conocimiento con sus pensadores correspondientes. Originalidad/Valor: El estudio que se realiza permite un acercamiento a los elementos distintivos del pensamiento bibliotecológico y sus autores más representativos hasta la 1ra mitad del siglo XX, sustentando el análisis en la circunstancialidad epocal que enmarca los discursos examinados.
