                    [0] => This article demonstrates that the transformations of the Central Library over its 70 years were possible because it was conceived as the first building in Mexico constructed according to the requirements of a library within the functionalist and naturalist paradigms. It considered the future growth and adaptation of its collections, the activities of the reading community, staff, services, and academic and cultural activities, as well as ecological aspects. Furthermore, the Library provides a space for experimenting with projects developed by the General Directorate of Libraries and Digital Information Services (DGBSDI), which have led to innovation within the libraries of the Library and Information System (SIBIUNAM), in line with the evolution of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The Central Library is considered an emblematic building due to the iconographic representation of four stages of Mexican history in its exterior murals, crafted from natural stone. The transformations of the Central Library over these 70 years have maintained it as a work of art serving the community.@en
                    [1] => En este artículo se demuestra que las transformaciones de la Biblioteca Central, durante sus 70 años, fueron posibles porque fue concebido como el primer edificio construido en México acorde a las requerimientos de una biblioteca con las condiciones del paradigma funcionalista y naturalista, considerando el crecimiento y adecuaciones futuras de los acervos documentales, las actividades de la comunidad lectora, del personal, servicios y actividades académicas y culturales, también aspectos ecológicos. Además, la Biblioteca reúne condiciones donde se han experimentado proyectos generados en la Dirección General de Bibliotecas y Servicios Digitales de Información (DGBSDI), con los cuales se ha logrado innovar las bibliotecas del Sistema Bibliotecario y de Información (SIBIUNAM), en sintonía con la evolución de la UNAM. La Biblioteca Central es considerada un edificio emblemático por la representación iconográfica de cuatro etapas de la historia de México en sus murales externos, elaborados con piedras naturales. Las transformaciones de la Biblioteca Central, durante 70 años, la mantienen como una obra de arte al servicio de la comunidad.@es
