                                            [0] => Objective: To investigate the relationship between censorship and material selection in school libraries affiliated with the Regional Education Coordination Office (CRE) of Florianópolis, examining how librarians perceive and experience these practices in their professional routines. Methodology: This qualitative study was based on Grounded Theory. Data were collected through a literature review and semi-structured interviews with librarians working in CRE-affiliated schools. Data analysis followed the stages of open, axial, and selective coding to develop theoretical categories grounded in the relationship between material selection and censorship. Results: The findings indicate that librarians face significant constraints on their professional autonomy due to the absence of clear collection development policies and the centralization of decision-making regarding library collections. The study also identified institutional and subtle forms of censorship influenced by political and hierarchical pressures. Despite these challenges, librarians demonstrated ethical resistance and a commitment to preserving informational diversity in school library collections. Conclusions: The study underscores the need to strengthen institutional policies and enhance the ethical and technical training of librarians to ensure professional autonomy in material selection and safeguard intellectual freedom in school libraries. The findings contribute to the debate on the librarian’s role as a critical mediator and an advocate for informational pluralism.
                                            [1] => Objetivo: Investigar a relação entre censura e seleção de materiais nas bibliotecas escolares vinculadas à Coordenadoria Regional de Educação (CRE) de Florianópolis, analisando como os bibliotecários percebem e vivenciam essas práticas em seu cotidiano profissional. Metodologia: A pesquisa adota a abordagem qualitativa da Teoria Fundamentada (GroundedTheory), com coleta de dados por meio de revisão bibliográfica e entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com bibliotecários atuantes em escolas da CRE. A análise dos dados segue as etapas de codificação aberta, axial e seletiva, buscando construir categorias teóricas com base na relação entre seleção e censura. Resultados: A análise das entrevistas revelou que os bibliotecários enfrentam limitações significativas em sua autonomia profissional, decorrentes da ausência de políticas claras de desenvolvimento de coleções e da centralização das decisões sobre os acervos. Também foram identificadas manifestações de censura institucional e velada, influenciadas por pressões políticas e hierárquicas. Apesar dessas restrições, emergem atitudes de resistência ética e esforços para preservar a diversidade informacional nas bibliotecas escolares. Conclusões: A pesquisa aponta para a necessidade de fortalecimento das políticas institucionais e da formação ética e técnica dos profissionais, de modo a garantir a autonomia na seleção de materiais e a defesa da liberdade intelectual nas bibliotecas escolares. O estudo contribui para o debate sobre o papel do bibliotecário como mediador crítico e agente de promoção da pluralidade informacional.
