                                            [0] => School libraries play a fundamental role, supporting educational programs and supporting students and teachers. Librarians act as educators as they guide and stimulate the personal and intellectual development of the school community, promoting education and culture in a comprehensive manner, inside and outside the library. Therefore, this article aims to identify the role of the librarian within the school community, based on the national scientific literature in the area. Specifically, the aims is to a) survey the bibliographical production related to the research topic; b) discuss the role of the school librarian as an educator; c) present the role of the librarian as an educator within the school community. Methodologically, this article was prepared through basic research, in terms of objectives it is exploratory, descriptive and, in terms of procedures, it is bibliographic. The collection source used was the Base de Dados de Artigos e Referenciais da Ciência da Informação, and the data was processed using a qualitative approach. In total, 21 articles were retrieved, of which eight were selected for analysis and read in full. It is concluded from the research that transforming the role of the school librarian into an active educator in the school community is a difficult task, as he currently has little participation in the educational development of students.
                                            [1] => As bibliotecas escolares desempenham um papel fundamental, servindo como suporte aos programas educacionais e apoiando alunos e professores. Bibliotecários atuam como educadores na medida em que orientam e estimulam o desenvolvimento pessoal e intelectual da comunidade escolar, promovendo a educação e a cultura de maneira abrangente, dentro e fora da biblioteca. Com isso, o objetivo deste artigo é identificar o papel do bibliotecário junto à comunidade escolar, a partir da literatura científica nacional da área. De forma específica, se objetiva a) levantar a produção bibliográfica relacionada ao tema da pesquisa; b) discutir o papel do  bibliotecário escolar como educador; c) apresentar o papel do bibliotecário enquanto educador junto à comunidade escolar. Metodologicamente, esse artigo foi elaborado por meio de pesquisa básica, quantos aos objetivos é exploratório, descritivo e, quantos aos procedimentos, é bibliográfico. A fonte de coleta utilizada foi a Base de Dados de Artigos e Referenciais da Ciência da Informação, e o tratamento dos dados se deu por meio de abordagem qualitativa. Ao todo, foram recuperados 21 artigos, desses, oitos foram selecionados para análise que foram lidos na íntegra. Conclui-se a partir da pesquisa que transformar o papel do bibliotecário escolar em educador atuante na comunidade escolar é uma tarefa difícil, pois atualmente ele tem pouca participação no desenvolvimento educacional dos alunos.
