                    [0] => This research analyzes the photographic and audiovisual archive of Kenyan photojournalist Mohamed Amin (1943-1996), generated from the work done by the company he created in 1963, Camerapix, to collaborate with local and international media. The objective is to offer researchers an overview of both the funds and the way of working in the company and to collaborate in the possible resolution of documentary gaps. The agreement with Google Arts & Culture for the digitization and online dissemination of part of its photographic material is also valued. In order to make these aspects more concrete, we delve into one of the themes present in the archive, centered on the representation of the Elmolo tribe, located in Lake Turkana. A descriptive methodology is applied to this material, which is completed with six in-depth interviews with those responsible for the archive and Amin´s collaborators. It is shown that the historical and documentary value of Mohamed Amin´s legacy goes beyond “humanitarian pornography”, a cliché that has remained by Amin´s coverage of the 1984 Ethiopian famine. To this end, the work of this photojournalist in the representation of Africa is highlighted, making known peoples and customs hitherto ignored by the world, through the lens of an African. Through this study, the ethical responsibility of photojournalism, the preservation of visual archives and the role of the images in the representation of Africa are discussed.                     [1] => Esta investigación analiza el archivo fotográfico y audiovisual del fotoperiodista keniano Mohamed Amín (1943-1996), generado a partir del trabajo realizado por la empresa que creó en 1963, Camerapix, para colaborar con medios de comunicación locales e internacionales. El objetivo es ofrecer a los investigadores una visión general tanto de los fondos, como de la manera de trabajar en la citada empresa y colaborar en la posible resolución de lagunas documentales. Igualmente se valora el acuerdo con Google Arts&Culture para la digitalización y difusión online de parte de su material fotográfico. Para concretar estos aspectos, se profundiza en una de las temáticas presente en el archivo centrada en la representación de la tribu Elmolo, situada en el lago Turkana. Se aplica una metodología descriptiva de este material que se completa con cuatro entrevistas en profundidad realizadas a responsables del archivo y colaboradores de Amin. Se muestra que el valor histórico y documental del legado de Mohamed Amín va más allá de la “pornografía humanitaria”, un cliché que se ha mantenido a partir de la cobertura que Amín realizó de la hambruna en Etiopia en 1984. Para ello se pone en valor la labor de este fotoperiodista en la representación de África, dando a conocer pueblos y costumbres hasta entonces ignoradas por el mundo, con la lente de un africano. A través de este estudio se plantea la responsabilidad ética del fotoperiodismo, la conservación de archivos visuales y el rol de las imágenes en la configuración de percepciones y narrativas.@es
