                                            [0] => Scientific production is an indicator associated with the productive and economic development of a country. Currently, Scientiometric is a tool used to analyze the products generated by science and that allows identifying research trends. The objective of this study was to analyze the scientific production of the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP) in the period 2020-2024 to determine its contributions and limitations. Bibliometric analysis, descriptive statistics and correlation were used to analyze the information related to the study period. The results showed that INIAP's research production has increased its scientific quality by focusing on publishing in high visibility and ranking journals. The research area where there is the greatest scientific production is “Productivity Increase”, as well as in the research lines of “Integrated Crop Managent” and “Agricultural Economy, Agroecology, and Climate Change”; themes focused on current problems and that allow to contribute to the promotion of sustainable agriculture. Investment in research has decreased over time, thus it is necessary to generate actions and policies that allow maintaining stable investment to develop agricultural research in the country, with the aim of contributing to the productive and economic development of Ecuador.
                                            [1] => La producción científica es un indicador asociado al desarrollo productivo y económico de un país. Actualmente, la cienciometría es una herramienta utilizada para analizar los productos generados por la ciencia y que permite identificar tendencias de investigación. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la producción científica del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIAP) en el periodo 2020-2024 para determinar sus aportes y limitaciones. Para analizar la información relacionada al periodo de estudio se utilizó análisis bibliométrico, estadística descriptiva y correlación. Los resultados mostraron que la producción de investigación del INIAP ha incrementado su calidad científica al enfocarse en publicar en revistas de alta visibilidad y ranking. El área de investigación donde existe mayor producción científica es “Incremento de la Producción”, así como en las líneas de investigación de “Manejo Integral de Cultivos” y “Economía Agraria, Agroecología y Cambio Climático”; temáticas enfocadas en problemáticas actuales y que permiten contribuir al fomento de una agricultura sustentable. La inversión en investigación ha disminuido a través del tiempo, por lo que es necesario generar acciones y políticas que permitan mantener una inversión estable para desarrollar la investigación agropecuaria en el país, con el objetivo de contribuir al desarrollo productivo y económico del Ecuador.
