                                            [0] => This study analyzes, from a historical-discursive perspective, the processes of institutional memory construction and the mechanisms of silencing present in the technical reports of the Benedito Leite Public Library from 1915 to 1919. This is an exploratory and descriptive documentary research with a qualitative approach. The analysis was conducted based on the guidelines of content analysis, with predefined thematic categories. Between 1915 and 1919, Benedito Leite Public Library reports progressively construct an institutional narrative that oscillates between the demand for recognition and symbolic consecration. These documents highlight the appreciation of the collection as cultural heritage and the library’s self-affirmation as a social agent. At the same time, they reveal dynamics of institutionalized forgetting, such as document loss, physical degradation, and the absence of preservation policies. The memory projected in these reports coexists with silences and selections that shape the collection as a space of symbolic dispute. Thus, the construction of institutional memory is not neutral but rather the result of discursive strategies aimed at asserting the relevance of Benedito Leite Public Library in the face of challenges related to preservation and historical continuity.
                                            [1] => Este estudo analisa, sob uma perspectiva histórico-discursiva, os processos de construção da memória institucional e os mecanismos de silenciamento presentes nos relatórios técnicos da Biblioteca Pública Benedito Leite, no período de 1915 a 1919. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, descritiva e documental de abordagem qualitativa. A análise foi conduzida com base nas diretrizes da análise de conteúdo, com categorias temáticas previamente definidas. Entre 1915 e 1919, os relatórios da Biblioteca Pública Benedito Leite constroem, de forma progressiva, uma narrativa institucional que oscila entre a reivindicação de reconhecimento e a consagração simbólica. Esses documentos evidenciam a valorização do acervo como patrimônio cultural e a autoafirmação da biblioteca como agente social. Ao mesmo tempo, os relatórios revelam dinâmicas de esquecimento institucionalizado, como perdas documentais, degradação física e ausência de políticas de preservação. A memória projetada nesses relatórios convive com silenciamentos e seleções que configuram o acervo como espaço de disputas simbólicas. Assim, a construção da memória institucional não é neutra, mas resulta de estratégias discursivas que buscam afirmar a relevância da Biblioteca Pública Benedito Leite diante dos desafios da preservação e da continuidade histórica.
