Hereto, to ‘mask’ history is a State matter and the historiographical production becomes watched over, repressed. The memory is ‘protected’ by government institutions that try to safeguard, doing so, its credibility and its image before the society. The censorship is an expedient to ‘mask the truth’ creating myths and occulting facts, besides perpetuating tabus consecrated as truths that, without proof, aren t thought over.
