                                            [0] => We present a study on the importance of preprint publications on Covid-19 in the Virtual Health Library (VHL). Preprints are manuscripts, scientific articles published in repositories before peer review, thus allowing faster access to recent research results. The VHL – part of the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (BIREME/PAHO/WHO), has played a relevant role in the dissemination of reliable health information since 1998. Through bibliographic research on preprint portals, such as Scielo Preprints, we conclude that preprints played a crucial role in the rapid dissemination of research on treatments and vaccines to combat Covid-19, thus contributing to the end of the pandemic.
                                            [1] => Apresentamos um estudo sobre a importância das publicações em formato preprint sobre COVID-19 na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde – BVS. Os preprints são manuscritos, artigos científicos publicados em repositórios antes de uma revisão por pares, permitindo assim, acesso mais rápido a resultados de pesquisas recentes. A BVS – pertencente ao Centro Latino-Americano e do Caribe de Informação em Ciências da Saúde (BIREME/OPAS/OMS), desenvolve relevante papel na divulgação de informação fidedigna em saúde desde 1998. Através de pesquisa bibliográfica, concluímos que os preprints desempenharam um papel crucial na rápida difusão das pesquisas sobre tratamentos e vacinas para combater a COVID-19, contribuindo, portanto, para o fim da pandemia.
