                    [0] => Introdução: A análise de citações é uma ferramenta fundamental para compreender a dinâmica do conhecimento científico e as suas relações com o poder. Além de medir a influência de autores e instituições, esta ferramenta pode revelar estruturas de poder e desigualdades na produção científica. Objetivo: Apresentar reflexões sobre o caráter social e político da análise de citações como instrumento da cientometria, evidenciando como as relações de poder-saber se manifestam na produção e difusão do conhecimento científico. Metodologia: Pesquisa bibliográfica teórico-exploratória. Para fundamentação argumentativa, foram adotados dois marcos teórico-conceituais das ciências sociais: o "poder-saber" de Michel Foucault e o capital simbólico de Pierre Bourdieu. Resultados e discussões: A análise crítica das citações revela desigualdades na produção científica, com maior destaque para os cientistas e instituições de maior prestígio. A reflexão reforça a necessidade de se considerar fatores sociais e políticos na avaliação do conhecimento científico. Considerações finais: Este manuscrito contribui para a reflexão sobre a cientometria como prática socialmente construída, realçando a importância de fomentar uma ciência mais inclusiva.@pt
                    [1] => Introduction: Citation analysis is a fundamental tool for understanding the dynamics of scientific knowledge and its power relationship. In addition to measuring the influence of authors and institutions, this tool can reveal power structures and inequalities in scientific production. Objectives: To present reflections on the social and political nature of citation analysis as a tool of scientometrics, showing how power-knowledge relations manifest in producing and disseminating scientific knowledge. Methodology: Theoretical-exploratory bibliographic research. Two theoretical-conceptual frameworks from the social sciences were adopted as the basis for argumentation: Michel Foucault´s "power-knowledge" and Pierre Bourdieu´s symbolic capital. Results and Discussions: The critical analysis of citations reveals inequalities in scientific production, with greater emphasis on the most prestigious scientists and institutions. This reflection reinforces the need to consider social and political factors when evaluating scientific knowledge. Concluding remarks: This manuscript contributes to thinking about scientometrics as a socially constructed practice and highlights the importance of promoting a more inclusive science.@en
