                    [0] => Objective: To present a theoretical foundation around three main concepts: public library, mediation and geek culture, to propose a concept of a geek library. To this end, a theoretical triangulation was conducted relating the missions and functions of public libraries, the dimensions of mediation mobilized in cultural actions, and the participatory nature intrinsic to fandoms, represented by geek culture.
Methodology: This research is qualitative and descriptive and uses practical examples from an applied case study to verify the cultural action developed by a group of fans in a public library.
Results: The results highlight the potential of participatory culture in socially mobilizing the community toward a common goal, self-education, and diversity related to cultural production. They also demonstrate the benefits of developing meaningful cultural actions to fulfill the missions and functions of public libraries.
Conclusions: The concept of a geek library is proposed, demonstrating its characteristics and drawing parallels with the presented theory.@en
                    [1] => Objetivo: Apresentar uma fundamentação teórica em torno de três conceitos principais: biblioteca pública, mediação e cultura geek para propor um conceito de biblioteca geek. Para tanto, foi realizada uma triangulação teórica relacionando as missões e funções da biblioteca pública, as dimensões da mediação mobilizadas em ações culturais e o caráter participativo intrínseco aos fandoms, representados pela cultura geek.
Metodologia: A pesquisa é qualitativa e descritiva, além de utilizar exemplos práticos de um estudo de caso aplicado para verificar a ação cultural desenvolvida por um grupo de fãs em uma biblioteca pública.
Resultados: Os resultados apontam o potencial da cultura participativa na mobilização social da comunidade em prol de um objetivo comum, da autoformação e da diversidade relacionadas à produção cultural, também demonstra os benefícios do desenvolvimento de ações culturais significativas para o cumprimento das missões e funções das bibliotecas públicas.
Conclusões: Propõe-se o conceito de biblioteca geek, demonstrando suas características e traçando paralelos com a teoria apresentada.@pt
