                    [0] => As a genre, Literary Journalism acts as an expansion of traditional journalism, using literary techniques to challenge the precepts of news writing and practice (Pereira, 2017). During war, this genre finds fertile ground to flourish, emerging as a byproduct of attempts to understand and alleviate the suffering caused by conflict (Bak, 2017). This phenomenon was the subject of an online interview with reporter Jon Lee Anderson on August 8, 2025. In the 2000s, the journalist followed the controversial US invasion of Iraq, which gave rise to the book “The Fall of Baghdad.” In addition to providing behind-the-scenes insights into the production of the report, the reporter reflects on the role of empathy in war coverage and the possibility that this type of journalism can help build peace.

                    [1] => Como gênero, o jornalismo literário atua como uma expansão do jornalismo tradicional, utilizando técnicas da literatura para desafiar os preceitos do lide e da práxis noticiosa (Pereira, 2017). Durante a guerra esse gênero encontra um terreno fértil para florescer e emerge como um subproduto para tentar entender e aliviar o sofrimento do conflito (Bak, 2017).
