                                    [description] => This article, analysing the circumstances of the uprising and consolidation of public archives in Latin America, United States and Europe, discuss comparatively representative models, administratively defined, of organizational structures of archives —centralized and decentralized. The present study makes possible to outline a pattern of archives administration or, at least, as an intermediate stage, to suggest solutions of medium range, seeking to protect the consolidate structure of the historical archives and, at the same time, to absorb the modernizing proposals of the sistemic models.
