[0] => Disability affects nearly one-fifth of the global population. Nevertheless, social exclusion remains a central challenge for people with disabilities in their pursuit of equality and full societal participation. Social media play an important role in promoting the social inclusion of people with disabilities, and political actors can function as influencers who build credibility and authenticity while engaging with this population. This article presents a systematic assessment of the visibility of people with disabilities in the Instagram posts of Spanish politician and President of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. A mixed-methods approach was employed to analyze textual, visual, and audiovisual content related to disability. The results identified multiple forms of the politician’s engagement such as raising awareness and promoting visibility of people with disabilities, supporting institutions that facilitate their participation, attending public and social events related to disability, and using these interactions for personal promotion and electoral image-building.@en
