                    [0] => This paper aims to understand how the law of legal deposit is used in the process of preservation and transmission of memory in the state of Piaui, we also analyze that law from its beginning until the application given by authors in Piauí in the depository library Cromwel de Carvalho. We want to know the factors 
that argue the breach of law on the part of depositors. Considering the specificity of the investigated problem, we start from a literature review and a subsequent field research that addressed the issue through semi-structured interviews in order to understand the studied situation from the standpoint of the participants (the manager of the library in question and the authors who had works published in the state). To this end, it was necessary a qualitative analysis of data and further theoretical readings of Maia (2003), Campello (2006), Pinto (2008) among others. Therefore, the articulation of information, memory and built heritage buttress the development of this paper, since we enable an understanding of the importance of law in preserving the memory as cultural heritage.@en
                    [1] => O presente trabalho pretende entender como a lei do depósito legal é utilizada no processo de preservação e difusão da memória no estado do Piauí, analisaremos ainda a mesma desde o surgimento à aplicação dada por autores no Piauí junto à depositária Biblioteca Cromwel de Carvalho. Pretendemos conhecer os fatores que argumentam o não cumprimento da lei por parte dos depositantes. Tendo em vista, a especificidade do problema investigado, partimos de um levantamento bibliográfico e posteriormente uma pesquisa de campo que abordou a temática através de entrevistas semi – estruturadas no intuito de entender a situação estudada segundo as perspectivas dos participantes (Gestor da biblioteca em questão e autores que tiveram obras publicadas no estado). Para tanto, se fez necessário a análise qualitativa dos dados e o aprofundamento teórico por meio de leituras de Maia (2003), Campello (2006), Pinto (2008) entre outros. Portanto, a articulação da informação; memória e patrimônio construído respaldam o desenvolvimento deste trabalho, uma vez que possibilitamos uma compreensão da importância da lei na preservação da memória enquanto patrimônio cultural.@pt
