                    [0] => Information Literacy implies that individuals have the ability to use information in order to resolve concerns arising from life in society. Information Literacy empowers people, enabling them to reach and express well-founded points of view and arguments, making social connection possible - a vital factor in rural spaces.  Therefore, this investigation reflects the information literacy in rural social. To meet this intention, qualitative research was chosen, whose research techniques used were bibliographic and documentary. The results reveal that social phenomena related to economic activity, education and the media are fundamental for maintaining sustainable life and are permeated with information in its details. This evidence from the rural environment – ​​especially in the city of Riachão do Dantas, in Sergipe – is crucial for understanding the constant need to develop and employ competence in these spaces. It is concluded that reflecting the nuances of Rural Social Information Competence corroborates the need to develop them, as information literacy helps to emancipate people who (co)live - live together - in these spaces, as they are able to claim their civil rights and perhaps improve their living conditions.@en
                    [1] => A Competência em Informação implica que os sujeitos tenham a capacidade de usar informações com o intuito de resolver inquietações decorrentes da vida em sociedade. A Competência em Informação empodera as pessoas, fazendo com que elas possam alcançar e proferir pontos de vistas e argumentos embasados, tornando possível a conexão social -  fator vital também em espaços rurais. Assim sendo, esta investigação reflete a Competência em Informação Social Rural. Para atender a essa pretensão, elegeu-se a pesquisa qualitativa, cujas técnicas de pesquisa usadas foram a bibliográfica e a documental. Os resultados desvelam que fenômenos sociais relacionados à atividade econômica, à educação e às mídias, são fundamentais para a manutenção da vida sustentável e estão atravessados por informações em suas minúcias. Essas evidências do ambiente rural – especialmente na cidade de Riachão do Dantas, em Sergipe –são fulcrais para a compreensão da necessidade constante de desenvolver e empregar competências nesses espaços. Conclui-se que refletir as nuances da Competência em Informação Social Rural corroboram para vislumbrar a necessidade de desenvolvê-las, pois Competência em Informação ajuda a emancipar as pessoas que (con)vivem nesses espaços, uma vez que conseguem requerer os seus direitos civis e, quiçá, melhorar as suas condições de vida.@pt
