                                            [0] => This paper analyzes its history and mentions the aspects that, in its early stages, affected the develop­ment of the proposed research activities, due to the urgent need to address the operational side of libraries, as well as the institutional environment and the contributions of the first stage of the journal Biblioteca Universitaria, published by the General Directorate of Libraries of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Since 1986, the year of its creation, the journal set out to consolidate communication and the exchange of concerns and information among university libraries, disseminate library science research, and strengthen the academic identity of the profession. The paper in question explains how the publication was linked to the growth and development of library science research at UNAM, the training and professionalization of library staff, and the technological modernization of library services. It also emphasizes the main themes of its articles: automation, technical processes, professional training, preservation, regulations, and library science education, as well as the impact of the actions undertaken to strengthen the UNAM Library System. Finally, Biblioteca Universitaria is recognized as an important reference in the advancement of national library science thought.
                                            [1] => Se analiza su historia y menciona los aspectos que afectaron en sus inicios el desa­rrollo de las actividades de investigación propuestas, debido a la urgente necesidad de atender la parte operativa de las bibliotecas, así como también el entorno institu­cional y las contribuciones de la primera etapa de la revista Biblioteca Universitaria, publicada por la Dirección General de Bibliotecas de la Universidad Nacional Au­tónoma de México (UNAM). Desde 1986, fecha de su creación, la revista se propuso consolidar la comunicación e intercambio de inquietudes e información entre las bibliotecas universitarias, difundir la investigación bibliotecológica y fortalecer la identidad académica del gremio. El texto explica cómo la publicación se vinculó con el crecimiento y desarrollo de la investigación bibliotecológica en la UNAM, la for­mación y profesionalización del personal bibliotecario y la modernización tecno­ lógica de los servicios. Enfatiza también sobre los ejes temáticos principales de sus artículos –automatización, procesos técnicos, formación profesional, conservación, normatividad y educación bibliotecológica– y el impacto de las acciones emprendi­das para robustecer el Sistema Bibliotecario de la UNAM. Por último, se reconoce a Biblioteca Universitaria como un referente importante en el avance del pensamiento bibliotecológico nacional.
