                                            [0] => This article analyzes the discursive constitution of the identities of three candidates for the rectorship of the Federal Institute of Roraima (IFRR) during the 2016 campaign, investigating ideological meanings that sustain asymmetrical power relations. Grounded in Critical Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 2003), the study examines an election debate through the categories of intertextuality, interdiscursivity, modality, and appraisal. The results reveal three distinct forms of identity: Candidate Z constructed himself as founder/guardian (a legitimizing identity); Candidate X as both part of and in rejection of power; and Candidate Y as excluded from power relations. The research shows that IFRR reproduces the clientelistic power structure of the state of Roraima, in which naturalized discursive practices sustain the hegemony of a founding group. The legitimizing identity operates through narrativization, naturalization, and symbolization, standardizing relations and imposing a conservative conception of university management. The study contributes to understanding how academic discourses reproduce structures of domination.
                                            [1] => Este artigo analisa a constituição discursiva da identidade de três candidatos à reitoria do Instituto Federal de Roraima (IFRR) durante a campanha de 2016, investigando sentidos ideológicos que sustentam relações assimétricas de poder. Fundamentado na Análise Crítica do Discurso (Fairclough, 2003), o estudo examina um debate eleitoral mediante as categorias de intertextualidade, interdiscursividade, modalidade e avaliatividade. Os resultados revelam três formas distintas de identidade: o Candidato Z identificou-se como fundador/guardião (identidade legitimadora); o Candidato X como parte e rejeição do poder; o Candidato Y como excluído das relações de poder. A pesquisa demonstra que o IFRR reproduz a estrutura de poder clientelista do Estado de Roraima, onde práticas discursivas naturalizadas sustentam a hegemonia de um grupo fundador. A identidade legitimadora opera por meio de narrativização, naturalização e simbolização, padronizando relações e impondo uma concepção conservadora de gestão universitária. O estudo contribui para compreender como discursos acadêmicos reproduzem estruturas de dominação.
