                    [0] => Objective: School libraries are part of the teaching-learning process and must meet the needs of all students, regardless of their characteristics, to become truly inclusive. In this sense, this study seeks to reflect on the initiatives undertaken at the Prof. Maria da Paz Library, located within the Walter Leite Caminha Municipal Elementary School, which is part of the Bilingual Center for the Deaf in Belém, in the state of Pará, Brazil.
Methods: The research methodology combines experience reporting, based on observations made at the Prof. Maria da Paz Library, with bibliographic survey on school libraries, bilingual education, deaf people and human rights, as well as documentary research on legal devices that ensure access to information and education for the deaf, with an emphasis on the Brazilian scenario.
Results: The results demonstrate that libraries can adopt initiatives to strengthen their role as spaces for the democratization of knowledge and information, especially from a bilingual perspective, including adapting resources and services to meet the needs of deaf students, promoting linguistic and cultural accessibility, and contributing to educational and social inclusion.
Conclusions: It is concluded that the actions analyzed meet the informational needs of deaf students, in addition to contributing to raising awareness in the school community regarding the issue of inclusion and human rights.@en
                    [1] => Objetivo: As bibliotecas escolares fazem parte do processo de ensino-aprendizagem e devem atender às necessidades de todos os estudantes, independentemente de suas características, para se tornarem, verdadeiramente, inclusivas. Nesse sentido, este estudo tem como objetivo refletir sobre as ações realizadas na Biblioteca Professora Maria da Paz, da Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Walter Leite Caminha, que está inserida no Polo de Educação Bilíngue de Surdos, no município de Belém, no estado do Pará.
Método: A metodologia da pesquisa combina relato de experiência, baseada em observações realizadas na Biblioteca Prof. Maria da Paz, com levantamento bibliográfico sobre as bibliotecas escolares, a educação bilíngue, pessoas surdas e os direitos humanos, além de análise documental sobre os dispositivos legais que asseguram o acesso à informação e à educação de surdos, com ênfase no cenário brasileiro.
Resultado: Os resultados demonstram que as bibliotecas podem adotar iniciativas para fortalecer seu papel como espaços de democratização do conhecimento e da informação, especialmente, dentro da perspectiva bilíngue. Essas iniciativas incluem a adaptação de recursos e serviços para atender às necessidades dos estudantes surdos, promovendo a acessibilidade linguística e cultural, e contribuindo para a inclusão educacional e social.
Conclusões: As ações analisadas atendem às necessidades informacionais dos estudantes surdos, além de contribuírem para a sensibilização da comunidade escolar a respeito do tema da inclusão e dos direitos humanos.@pt
