                    [0] => In times of war, cultural institutions take on new social functions. From this perspective, this article reflects on the role of libraries and librarians in confronting epistemicide, through bibliographic research and the analysis of recent historical events. The article seeks to understand how Library Science and Information Science discuss the role of libraries and librarians in preserving collective memory and combating historical erasure, understood here as one of the instruments of genocide, with a focus on preserving the memories of the Palestinian people, especially after the offensive launched by Israel in October 2023. Additionally, we present some practical actions aimed at mobilizing civil society and the professional community in defence of Palestine and against the violence of the ongoing conflict in the region.@en
                    [1] => Em tempos de guerra, as instituições culturais assumem novas funções sociais. Nessa perspectiva, o presente artigo reflete sobre o papel das bibliotecas e das pessoas bibliotecárias no enfrentamento do epistemicídio, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e da análise de fatos históricos recentes. Busca-se compreender como a Biblioteconomia e a Ciência da Informação discutem o papel das bibliotecas e das pessoas bibliotecárias na preservação da memória coletiva e no combate do apagamento histórico, aqui entendido como um dos instrumentos do genocídio, com foco para a preservação das memórias do povo palestino, especialmente após a ofensiva lançada por Israel a partir de outubro de 2023. De modo complementar, apresentam-se algumas ações práticas que visam mobilizar a sociedade civil e a comunidade profissional em defesa da Palestina e contra a violência do conflito em curso na região.@pt
