                    [0] => Objective: Higher education institutions are an essential link in the effort to place knowledge and scientific research at the center of societal progress. It has been observed that the process of conducting scientific research by both undergraduate and graduate students frequently encounters various limitations related to research design. This research aims to contribute to the development of research skills in higher education students by improving their research design. Methodology: Theoretical methods employed included analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, and systems approaches, as well as empirical methods such as literature review and case studies. Results and Discussion:This study establishes three key areas that allow for the identification of the main limitations in higher education students´ research designs and the conceptual clarifications that can contribute to their improvement. These areas are: limitations and conceptual clarifications for refining the theoretical design of the research, the methodological design of the research, and clarifications regarding the types of fundamental scientific results and their expression in various research fields. Conclusion emphasizes that the delimitation and characterization of these limitations, accompanied by proposals for conceptual clarifications, facilitate their detection, awareness, and overcoming, thereby contributing to the improvement of higher education students´ research skills. Contributions: The results obtained in the analysis of the three main areas open new avenues of knowledge for future research.@en
                    [1] => Objetivo: Las instituciones de educación superior constituyen un eslabón esencial en el empeño de colocar a los conocimientos y la investigación científica en el centro del avance de la sociedad. Se ha podido constatar que en el proceso de realización de la investigación científica por parte tanto de estudiantes de grado como de posgrado con frecuencia se detectan diversas limitaciones en relación con el diseño de tales investigaciones. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo contribuir a la formación de competencias investigativas en estudiantes de nivel superior a través del perfeccionamiento del diseño de sus investigaciones. Metodología: Para ello se han empleado los métodos teóricos analítico-sintético, inductivo-deductivo y el enfoque en sistema; así como los métodos empíricos de revisión bibliográfica y de estudio de caso. Resultados y Discusión:  establecen tres ejes que permiten determinar las limitaciones principales en los diseños de investigación de estudiantes de nivel superior y las precisiones conceptuales que pueden contribuir a su perfeccionamiento, a saber: limitaciones y precisiones conceptuales para el perfeccionamiento del diseño teórico de la investigación, del diseño metodológico de la investigación, así como precisiones acerca de los tipos de resultados científicos fundamentales y su expresión en diversos campos investigativos. Conclusión se subraya que la delimitación y caracterización de tales limitaciones, acompañadas de propuestas de precisiones conceptuales, favorecen su detección, concientización y superación, mediante lo cual se contribuye a perfeccionar las competencias investigativas de los estudiantes de nivel superior. Aportes: Los resultados obtenidos en el análisis a los tres ejes principales, dejan abiertos nuevas rutas de conocimientos para futuras investigaciones.@es
