                    [0] => Este artigo analisa os desfiles do Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Portela durante o período do Estado Novo (1937-1945), destacando-os como registros de resistência cultural e legitimação da identidade negra no Brasil. A pesquisa utiliza uma abordagem neodocumental da ciência da informação e teorias decoloniais para explorar como os enredos carnavalescos refletem a dinâmica sociopolítica da época. A partir da análise de enredos entre 1938 e 1945, o estudo identifica como a Portela inovou na relação entre estética e discurso político-cultural, enfrentando as tensões entre controle estatal e expressão afro-brasileira. O artigo também discute como os sambistas negociaram espaço dentro do contexto repressivo, utilizando o carnaval como ferramenta de preservação e valorização de suas tradições e identidades.@pt
                    [1] => This article examines the parades of the Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Portela during the Estado Novo (1937–1945), highlighting them as records of cultural resistance and of the legitimation of Black identity in Brazil. The study adopts a neodocumental approach from information science and draws on decolonial theories to explore how carnival storylines mirrored the sociopolitical dynamics of the period. By analyzing themes from 1938 to 1945, the study shows how Portela innovated in linking aesthetics to political–cultural discourse, confronting the tensions between state control and Afro-Brazilian expression. The article also discusses how samba school members carved out space within a repressive context, using Carnival as a tool to preserve and value their traditions and identities.@en
