                    [0] => The need to promote the Health Information Systems degree program in Havana through social media was highlighted. The descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted between October and November 2024 at the Faculty of Health Technology of the University of Medical Sciences in Havana. The study involved the 36 students enrolled in the program during the study period. Instagram is the most widely used social network for learning about academic and job opportunities, used by 42%, followed by Facebook at 25%, and LinkedIn at 7%. Students prefer content such as informational videos about programs (32%) and infographics about career options (17%). Regarding the type of information they want, 22% want to learn more about curricula and courses, while 20% seek information about career opportunities and jobs. Research projects and professional internships are the least requested, at 6%. Promoting the Health Information Systems program through social media is essential to increase its visibility, attract new students, and strengthen its relevance in both academic and professional contexts.@en

El estudio, descriptivo y transversal, se llevó a cabo entre octubre y noviembre de 2024 en la Facultad de Tecnología de la Salud de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana. El estudio incluyó a los 36 estudiantes matriculados en la carrera de Sistemas de Información en Salud durante el período de realización del estudio. Instagram es la red social más utilizada para informarse sobre oportunidades académicas y laborales, con un 42 % de uso, seguida de Facebook, con un 25 %, y LinkedIn, con un 7 %. Los estudiantes prefieren contenidos como vídeos informativos sobre programas (32 %) e infografías sobre opciones de carrera (17 %). En cuanto al tipo de información que prefieren recibir, el 22 % desea conocer más sobre los planes de estudio y las asignaturas, y el 20 % prefiere información sobre salidas profesionales y empleos. Los proyectos de investigación y las prácticas profesionales son los menos solicitados, con un 6 %. La promoción de la carrera de Sistemas de Información en Salud a través de las redes sociales es una necesidad clave para fortalecer su visibilidad, atraer a nuevos estudiantes y consolidar su relevancia en el ámbito académico y profesional.@es
