                                            [0] => The article analyzes the role of the evaluation of scientific journals in the process of the evaluation of the research performed by individuals and institutions. Special attention is paid to social sciences and humanities journals. Firstly, the difficulties in the application of bibliometric methods based on citation analysis with data obtained from Thompson Scientific (ex ISI) are studied. Secondly, we describe several projects for the creation of alternative citation indexes and the main collection of journals developed from the application of other evaluation methods such as peer evaluation, editorial quality analysis or journals’ diffusion.
                                            [1] => Se analiza el papel de la evaluación de revistas científicas en los procesos de valoración de la investigación desarrollada por personas e instituciones, prestando un especial interés a los títulos de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades. En primer lugar, se examinan las dificultades de aplicación, en estas disciplinas, de métodos bibliométricos de repercusión basados en el análisis de citas con datos obtenidos de las bases de datos de Thomson Scientific (ex ISI). A continuación se examinan los proyectos de creación de índices de citas alternativos, y los principales repertorios de revistas desarrollados a partir de la aplicación de otros métodos de evaluación como el arbitraje por pares, el análisis de la calidad editorial o la determinación de la difusión de los títulos.
