                                            [0] => El objetivo de este artículo es reflexionar acerca del rol de mediadoras entre ciencia y sociedad que tienen las bibliotecas universitarias, promoviendo la democratización del conocimiento. La metodología implementada fue una revisión bibliográfica sobre divulgación científica y alfabetización científica, con un análisis crítico respecto del rol de las bibliotecas universitarias en la construcción de una verdadera “cultura científica”. Los resultados del análisis subrayan la importancia de la alfabetización científica como una herramienta clave para acercar el conocimiento especializado a la ciudadanía, haciendo una “traducción” del discurso científico a un lenguaje más accesible y comprensible para el ciudadano común. Asimismo, evidencian la importancia del papel activo que deben asumir las bibliotecas universitarias desde el concepto de “Alfabetización Científica” a fin de establecerse como nexo entre la ciencia y los ciudadanos, mitigando el efecto de la desinformación en la sociedad. Como conclusión, se destacan actividades de promoción y fomento de la divulgación científica que podrían implementar las bibliotecas y los lazos de cooperación necesarios con la comunidad científica para asumir plenamente su compromiso como agentes de cambio en el desarrollo social y cultural.
                                            [1] => The objective of this article is to reflect on the role of academic libraries as mediators between science and society, promoting the democratization of knowledge. The methodology implemented was a bibliographic review on scientific dissemination and scientific literacy, accompanied by a critical analysis of the role of academic libraries in building a true "scientific culture."
The analysis results highlight the importance of scientific literacy as a key tool to bring specialized knowledge closer to the public, effectively "translating" scientific discourse into a more accessible and comprehensible language for the general citizen. Likewise, they underscore the critical role that academic libraries must play in adopting the concept of "Scientific Literacy" to establish themselves as a bridge between science and citizens, mitigating the effects of misinformation in society.
In conclusion, the article emphasizes activities for promoting and fostering scientific dissemination that libraries could implement, as well as the cooperative ties necessary with the scientific community to fully embrace their commitment as agents of change in social and cultural development.
