                    [0] => O acesso à informação no Brasil, direito previsto na Constituição Federal de 1988, foi regulamentado por meio da Lei 12.527/11 – Lei de Acesso à informação. Para funcionamento e manutenção dos serviços públicos, os órgãos públicos produzem e recebem uma grande quantidade de informações. Esse grande volume de informações públicas atribuem à Administração Pública a característica de acumuladora descontrolada de documentos. Um dos problemas decorrentes da falta de organização da informação pública é a restrição ao direito ao acesso à informação pública. A Lei de Acesso à informação tornou evidente a necessidade dos órgãos públicos adotarem práticas de gestão da informação arquivística demonstrando que para o acesso à informação, além do fator jurídico, devem ser observadas as condições físicas para que a transparência e o acesso à informação pública sejam efetivados. O trabalho tem como objetivo contribuir demonstrando a importância das práticas de organização e gestão de informação para que os cidadãos possam exercer o direito ao acesso à informação. Para tanto foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa do tipo exploratória e bibliográfica. Por meio da pesquisa realizada constatou-se a necessidade da implementação de arquivos nos órgãos públicos com a aplicação das técnicas da organização da informação por profissionais especializados.
